I've been searching and experimenting recently with the Value and Caption retrieval and I cannot come to terms with this. Similar question hasn't been answered here on Form and List Forum.

So the situation is clear for me if the Form InputSettings node of FieldValue is a single item, e.g. Manchester as it always gets retrieved painlessly.
What is unclear for me is how to retrieve both Caption and Value if the FieldValue is comprised of two items, e.g. Manchester|25.

The Form and List Database has only the Field Value and there's no sign of Caption in it.

Anyone here in the know how to approach that?

I am not aware of a lookup mechanism (value, caption) of the module, but if it exists, the caption must be in field definition table (UserDefinedFields)

Yes, there is of course as you wrote, but how to differentiate between two different captions that have the same value, for example:

Manchester|25€
London|25€

Can this be differentiated (associated) by XSLT? If so, anyone any idea on this?

Of course, values need to be unique, while multiple captions might be identical.
XSLT has access to additional field properties by using tokens [fieldname_UDT_Value] and [fieldname_UDT_Caption]

Thanks Sebastian for this valuable pointer. This could be what I need. Could have sworn I read the documentation thoroughly yet I overlooked it somehow.
Cheers!

(And don't give me that HFUDNN stuff :) )
