How do i create custom Security Roles that give users the Persona Bar?

We have Evoq 8 Content, and i'm new to it, and to web design as well.   I'm trying to create more granular custom Content Editor and Content Manager Security Roles, so sites different pages and modules can be managed by different units with in our Department.   Problem is users in those roles do not get the Persona Bar.  The only way i can give them the Persona Bar is by adding users also to the out of the box Content Editor/Manager roles.   But then they have broad permissions that I can not change.

Am i missing something?

DNN does not support custom security roles for the persona bar yet. I wish it did. I asked this same question through DNN Support. They said they would submit a feature request on my behalf. My workaround was to create a page called Tools with a Console module on it. Then I created Subpages with a Pages module, File Manager module, recycle bin, etc.  The downside is that they can't move pages in the page manager without being a superuser, admin, or content manager. We added a generic username to content manager and gave access to key people that needed occasional admin-like access.

If someone else wants to add how to modify the persona bar in the DNN Core, I'd love to know that too.

  1. While logged onto a computer with a Symantec Administrator user account, open a Symantec Management Platform Console.
  2. In the Symantec Management Platform Console, click on the Settings button and then select Security > Account Management.
  3. In the left window pane, in the Account Management folder, click on Roles.
  4. In the Roles window pane, right click on the Symantec Level 2 Workers security role and then select Clone from the right click menu.
  5. In the Clone Role window, click in the edit box and type a name for the custom security role, such as "Asset Workers".
  6. Click on the OK button. It is very useful information for students.

emanuel, in the original question I don't see any connection to a local Symantec Management Platform product.

Persona Bar is part of DNN Evoq products, please contact support at DNN Corp. for related questions.

Cheers from Germany,
