Hello,

We recently upgraded our site from DNN Community Edition 6.2 -> DNN Platform 7.1.0 -> DNN Platform 8.0.2

We were using iFinity Url Master module when we were using the Community Edition.

As per this article - http://www.ifinity.com.au/2013/07/22/DNN_71_and_Url_Master

iFinity Url Master has been integrated into core DNN Platform. And it was recommended to switch over to 'Advanced URL' functionality in DNN Platform. We performed the steps outlined in the above article to switch over from Url Master to Advanced URL functionality.

Now, when we navigate to the following pages:

1) Host -> Friendly URL Settings

Your current Friendly Url Provider is the DNN Friendly Url Provider
Your site is not enabled for the Url Master functionality until you click on the 'Apply Changes' button at the bottom of the screen, which will change the Friendly Url Provider to be the Url Master module.

and

2) Admin -> Portal Urls pages (attached image)

The Url Master module is not the current Url Rewriting provider for this site. You can save changes, but they will not be reflected until the module is activated via the Friendly Url Settings page.

We see the above messages.

Do the messages look alright? Did we successfully change to DNN 'Advanced URL' management? Do we need to do anything else?

it looks like you didn't properly uninstall Ifinity UrlMaster module from the site.
If you want to continue configuring Advanced Urls in DNN Platform, you should have a look at X3 Url Management module (http://dnnurlmanagement.codeplex.com)

Hi Sebastian,

I have already installed 'X3 Url Management module' (GUI) and using it for URL configuration. I added the module to the 'Admin' section.

So, we need to completely uninstall 'iFinity Url Master' module from Host -> Extensions? I did not do this step. Uninstalling should not cause any problems, correct?

Ram,
yes, you should uninstall. Just in case, I would start with a backup of the database.

Hi Sebastian,

I uninstalled iFinity URL Master Module from our site. Two things I wanted to verify:

1) Admin->Portal Urls -> This menu option shows up under Admin, but loads a blank page. Is this expected behavior?

2) Host->Friendly Url Settings -> This menu option no longer shows up under Host. Is this expected behavior?

According to my understanding, both these pages are created by iFinity URL Master module. And are now removed since we have uninstalled this module.
