Some of my sites use DNN 2.1.2 and MS Access. Recently my host was hacked - apparantly exploiting a security flaw in DNN (on another site, not one of mine) and their own security policy (that's what they said). Files in the webroot of all DNN sites were deleted by the hacker but folders in the webroot and their contents are intact.

My host is now insisting that all DNN users upgrade to DNN3 or 4 under ASP.Net 2 so they can run the sites as medium trust. I was planning to upgrade soon but I would have prefered to plan to do it rather than have the problem forced on me - my sites are currently down.

They are reluctant to give any more details (for obvious reasons) but I assume they must have been running in High or Full trust. If I understand correctly, DNN 2.1.2 and ASP.Net 1.1 needs to run with trust higher than medium to use the MS Access data provider.

Does anyone know how my host can solve the problem and securely run a DNN 2.1.2 site with MS Access under ASP.Net 1.1.
