My website is running DNN 7.3.4 on AZURE.  I have configured the Host Site Settings to use the database for the Site Log.  Apparently there are no records being generated into any tables in the database.  Also, when I select Site Log from the Admin menu, I get a notice that reads "Your Hosting Provider Has Disabled the Site Log History Feature For Your Website."  I understand that in Azure, you need to have the website and a bolob-space located in the same geographic area.  That is not possible without rehosting my system.

How can I initiate the use of the database to hold the Site Log information? ...and then retrieve it for use in site usage analysis?

Regards
Hans

Hans,

in DNN 7 go to Admin :: Site Settings, choose the tab "Advanced Settings", open the section "Host Settings" and enter the number of days you want to keep the records.

Happy DNNing!

Michael,
Thanks for your reply.

I have set the retention period for my site to 90 days. However, there after two days now there are no entries into the SiteLog table in the database. Is there something in the Azure environment that is stopping the interface .... or another issue within DNN core itself?

Regards
Hans

Hans,

in Host :: Host Settings, tab "Other settings" you find some settings related to site log. Maybe you need some change there. My settings are

  • Site Log Storage: Database
  • Site Log Buffer: 1
  • Site Log History: 0

and in Admin :: Site Settings, tab "Advanced settings", panel "Host settings":

  • Site Log History (Days): 90

That worked immediately when I moved through some pages and went to site log after. All the pages were shown in the Page Popularity stats.

I can't tell if it works in Azure or not, but it should afaik. Did you check Jira for some issues there?

Happy DNNing
Michael
