Hi,

How can we extend the functionality of built-in dnn modules? Let's say if I want to use DDRMenu in my website but also want some additional settings for host user like adding images in sub-menu items, what would be the best approach to accomplish it?

Thanks,

Junaid

Basically, the DDR menu is able to use any of the page properties in constructing a menu. You can take a look at the DumpXML template to see exactly what is provided to the menu templates.

As for adding images, the one place that an image can be added to a page's properties is through the page icon - there is an icon file and a large icon file. You presumably could stick a reference to another file in one of those places and use the contents of the file to define some other things that you might use. You'd have to use a Razor template to grab the file and process it to add the "other" information to the menu. If you just want to add images, these are fine entries.

You can also use the Description field, or other page properties in the menu.
