Hello all! I was just wondering if any of you have any useful information about future evolving / development of DotNetNuke CMS. There was an explanation some time ago, that DNN is moving away from Telerik. Some days ago, i've came accross DNN Summit 2017 (Denver) homepage - http://www.dnnsummit.org/. As the main topics for presentations there were the following client side technologies mentoine (see details at "Speakers" page) - http://www.dnnsummit.org/Speakers

- Angular JS
- React
- Aurelia (http://aurelia.io/hub.html#/doc/persona/developer)

So my question for you would be. Is Aurelia worth of learning? Will it be somehow incorporated in the future versions of DotNetNuke? Or we should better switch to Anglular JS / React or some other framework?

Thank you for your answers and have a nice day! ;)

Look for more details regarding the future evolution of DNN. The replay of the Southern Fried DNN meeting from earlier tonight will have some details, and there should be at least on blog post in the near future.

As for the DNN Summit, bear in mind that your list is "potential topics" for speakers. The actual deadline for session submissions is tomorrow, and we expect the lineup of sessions to be released toward the end of the month. I expected that there will be several sessions presented by people from DNN Corp highlighting recent developments, and I expect that a new version of DNN featuring those developments will be available before then.

From what I saw/heard in the Southern Fried DNN meeting, React might be a more appropriate technology to learn, if you want to do that.

And, I also hope that you will seriously consider attending DNN Summit. It should be a great learning/networking/social experience. Personally, I can't wait!

Hello Joseph! Yeah, DNN Summit is interesting, the only bad thing here is, that for me it will take a small journey to get there (location is quite far away from me). :) So, does anybody else have any information, which technology would me the most appropriate in the future for DotNetNuke module UI development.

Is there anything like Telerik UI controls planned? Of course there are quite some disadvantages of Telerik controls, but you must admin - the development is very, very fast.

We are planning to slowly abandon Telerik controls, so we are looking for alternative. What do you suggest? Which technology to use? This is quite a big step for us, because almost all of our custom modules are currently mostly based on Telerik controls with combination of default ASP.NET controls..

Thank you for your answer.

I will be very happy, if anyone on this forum (i believe many of you've seen this message) would help us and just explain the future evolution of DNN software. Once again - which technologies will be included, once DNN will get rid of Telerik. Any other Web UI framework? It is quite sad, that everybody is ignoring this topic. I think it is quite important and such information will help many users / developers. Really thank you!

Edit: i've found an interesting topic on "DNN JIRA Issue Tracker": https://dnntracker.atlassian.net/browse/DNN-8417  It may help someone to make a decision what to use.

Here is some information from last week's Southern Fried DNN meeting:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tto0TVxyzwY

I would expect to see some blogging about this soon.
