Ok, Here's my situation.  I have a development website setup on my machine to develop customer modules for my company.  My development system is running a 07.01.02 (356) version of DNN.  The module I'm working on saves images to a network share on another server.  I can save the images locally by giving the ApplicationPoolIdentity or DefaultAppPool write privileges to a local folder.  The problem I'm running into is these are local accounts and I can't assign them permissions to the shared folder because it's on another server.  I tried changing the AppPool Identity to our domain admin account, provided that account the permissions needed to write to the share, but still no luck.  Every time I try to save an image I get the following error.

"Access to the path '\\Tsdev002\NewsImages\NewsArticleName_9-23-2016' is denied."
NewsImages is the share location and I'm creating the folder 'NewsArticleName_9-23-2016' to store the images.

Can anyone help me out on this one.  I know it's a permissions issue because if I assign Everyone to the share and grant that user write permissions, the images will save to the share.  But I can't use Everyone for obvious reasons.

Thanks,
Jesse

I suggest having a look at http://store.dnnsoftware.com/home/pro... or comparable folder providers, which support UNC paths.

Thanks for the response Sebastian, but we don't have the funds for either of these. I'm trying to figure out which user I need assign write permissions on the share so I can save images/files directly to the network share.

in this case, the account specified in advanced settings of your IIS app pool needs access to the target path.
