I've just checked and if I go to the http version of the site the cookie doesn't work, but if I got to the https version it does.
https://www.ka72.com will log me in straight away using the cookie.

So somehow something is wrong with the https config for the site so when I visit it I don't automatically get redirected to the https site.

how did you configure SSL - did you check "enable SSL " and "enforce SSL" in site settings and enable "secured" in page settings?

I checked site settings. Enable SSL was checked, but Enforce SSL was not. I checked Enforce SSL and now I can't log in on the site any more. Every page I go to takes me back to the login page, and when I login, I am taken back to a page as if I am not logged in. So now I can't login at all to the site.

I've recovered access to the site by editing the portalsettings table directly, but this was the only way I could do it. And even then I had to clear my cookies to get the page to work again.

I've set the homepage as "Secure" in page management, and I think that will take care of things. Not going to mess with the SSL setting again, unless there is some requirement to set it to Enforce SSL.

EnforceSSL is used to switch between http for non-secure pages and https for secure pages.
