Hello,

We are experiencing some troubles on our hosting environment installing DNN for customers.

We are experiencing this for a couple of months now.

All new installations fail at 27%:
0:52 Minuten | 27% Er heeft zich een fout voorgedaan - Installeren Module - DNNCE_CoreMessaging_08.00.04_Install.zip (dutch).

But when we have procomon.exe (by sysinternals) running, the installation works without problems!!!
We have tested this many times to eliminate the 'coincidence-factor'.

On another server (basic Windows installation) it runs fine., so it must be a setting on our 'main'-server which is causing troubles.

It's also impossible (9 of 10 times) to UPDATE modules.

I can think of 2 differences between our mainserver and our test-VM.
1) on our mainserver storage is on a share \\share\folder\DNN instead of c:\folder\DNN

2) FCNMODE is set to 1 on the mainserver, because is heavily used.

How can we debug this, there is no log information?
And why is it all working when procmon is active?

Update: While installing DNN on our main-server using local storage (c:\.....) it worked!
But that's not what we want.
How can we enable DNN for our shared storage cluster?

Update: We changed the IIS root folder to local storage.
After that it worked!
But that's not what we want, how can we enable DNN to use our shared storage?

you would need to use an appropriate UNC provider to integrate UNC paths in your website file directory.
DNN installation needs to be local though

Hello, thank you for your response!

Where can I find information on this "UNC provider"?

And is there just no way of installing DNN on shared storage?
Some versions ago, this worked like a charm.

What you say is that I need to install it on local storage and then move it to shared storage and apply this "UNC provider"?
