Hi everyone,

My client has DNN 7 running on site and everything is pretty much purring along. But, today the client asked me about an issue one of the company managers had when trying to login to the site with an iPhone -- he couldn't. And sure enough, I checked and it doesn't work.

I did some searching around the internet and found some information about an issue with some version(s) of .NET not recognizing iOS correctly causing login attempts to fail. But the same article mentioned that the issue should have been fixed in .NET 4.5, and the clients hosted web-server is running 4.5.2.

Any idea as to what else might be causing the login issue?

Jim

which exact version of DNN are you running?
I suggest upgrading at least to DNN 7.4.2

Hi Sebastian,

The site is running DNN 7.3.4.

Do you know of any issue / bug with DNN that might be causing the login problem? If there is I will take the chance to upgrade DNN, but if it is an unknown issue then I will probably keep doing research.

Thanks!

Jim

A quick update. I remembered that I had upgraded / updated another DNN site from 7.3.4 to 7.4.2. So, I had my client try to login to it. No luck, same issue. So, I checked with her and she (and others) where using the default browser which is Safari. I had her try Chrome and it worked. Apparently it's Safari, not iOS with the issue.

Prior to this, and based on some information I found, I created a browser file (CriOS.browser) in the App_Browsers folder. It assumes that there is an issue with iOS running JavaScript, but Safari still doesn't work.

The file has the following content: EDIT - I guess the forum won't allow the embedded code snippet to be displayed.

As another test, I had the client check and they had cookies blocked, so when they unblocked cookies, they could login with Safari. I guess it wasn't as big an issue as I thought ;-)

Thanks anyway!
