After being notified about this by Timo, which I was unaware of, I contacted MDBootstrap to first find out if there was a problem. They have now got back to be explaining where to problem was, this is what they have said:

" If you check our license (http://mdbootstrap.com/license/) you will notice that it forbids embedding MDB into other projects.That's the reason why our support claim it to be illegal."

At the moment I do indeed embed the MDB project in the MDesign theme.

The good news is that the good people from MDB have given me a waver to use their great framework as I do now....

"However, I have discussed your case with the team and we have decided that taking into consideration all you mentioned, we will make an exception give your project a waver to use mdb although it violates our license."

Although I have a waver I have suggested that, instead of embedding MDB I would use a CDN instead. I have asked them if they supply this.

So if you want to use the MDesign theme go ahead and enjoy the great combination of DNN, MDesign and MDB!
