Shine for DNN - The Modern DNN Experience For Everyone

Shine is a new control panel for DNN (formerly DotNetNuke) that is built to enhance the editing experience for everyone from content editors to website admins to developers. Use powerful tools to manage your pages and redirects, SEO and accessibility, page analytics, site assets and more!

Current Progress

Shine is currently in development, however, a preview version has been released and is available on our website.  We intend to provide new public preview releases every 2 weeks during the development cycle until version 1.0 is ready.

Since the product is still in development, there will be a variety of potential bugs and incomplete features. However, with our rapid release cycle, we anticipate new features to make there way quickly to you.

Updates will be provided on this form and via email to users who have signed up for the preview program.

Supported DNN Versions

DNN 7.3.4 to DNN 8.0.3 are currently supported. We plan to provide additional support to other versions of DNN in the future as requested by our users.

Why Should I Try a Preview?

By downloading the preview release you will be granted a free license to use the software once version 1.0 is released. Additionally, your feedback will help us create a product that helps the entire community.

Page Permissions

• Implemented granular permissions to control user and role access.

Page Recycle Bin

• Implemented a recycle bin for the page that is accessed via Manage Page.

• Recycle Bin provides quick access to modules that have been deleted on a give page.

Manage Page

• Added deleted module count directly in the menu for quick access.

What's coming next?

The add module screen will be improved to support adding an existing module, searching available modules and filtering by most frequently used modules.  Additionally, the tools menu will start to be built out to provide granular cache clearing capabilities.

• Implemented the ability to clear the page, module and data cache on a site and global level.

• Implemented the ability to clear the sitemap cache on a site and global level.

• Implemented the ability to restart the application.

Performance Enhancements & Bug Fixes

•  Implemented various performance modifications that affect the all areas of the application.

• Fixed a bug with the logout button that caused a delay to occur before redirecting the user after logging out.
