Been doing further testing. We have the firewall settings setup to prevent http/https traffic out from the web server. One thing this prevents is updating Windows. To update Windows we enable a rule to allow all http/https traffic. I noticed when I enabled this rule to allow me to run updates that file downloads were instant.

Could there be something trying to call out from DNN that is maybe hitting an error. Would Google Analytics do this? We also have installed the DNN Google Analytics advanced module installed to allow tracking of downloads.

No idea. I suggest running Fiddler or WireShark and finding out.

BTW it might be worth talking to your network security people *before* running Fiddler or WireShark. They may have very strong opinions about doing that.

Best wishes,
