Yes I do get the same authorization behaviour when switching to EDIT mode. Hence, i tried all solutions mentioned in the other posts mentioned previously. However, I am able to switch to EDIT mode by just dismissing the authorization popup.

DOTNETNUKE cookie is also being created for Super User with what seems to be an encrypted value.

Cookies gave me a hint. Turned requireSSL="true" to false on httpCookies and that seems to have done the trick.
