Hi,

I need some download links to offer download only. I can do this by adding the "download" attribute within the A tag. But, the Rad Editor insists on removing the download attribute. The only way I can currently accomplish this is put the editor into Text / Raw mode and save / update that way. But, of course, if I switch back to the normal HTML edit mode the "download" is striped again.

Is there anyway to configure the Rad Editor to NOT remove the "download" attribute or to include it as an acceptable attribute?

Thanks!

Hello,
since your website utilizes the rad editor I suppose you are using an older DNN version? In CK editor in DNN8 that doesn't happen, I use the "download" tag constantly (just for information).
Now, perhaps rad editor has a setting about what to strip from the html. Try checking Host > HTML Editor Manager. If there is a setting for this, it will be there. (I don't have a website with rad editor right now so I can't go check it myself!)

Jim,

you could also use CK Editor for earlier versions of DNN. Have a look here: https://dnnckeditor.codeplex.com/

(I am sure this will make you happy :-))

Happy DNNing!

Hi.

1. Yes we are running DNN 7.x which uses the Radeditor. I have looked in the admin section for the editor, but nothing seems to address this issue -- other than disabling the striping feature completely -- which I don't want to do. I have posted on the telerik forums asking the same question. Maybe I will hear back from them.

2. I will have a look at the CK Editor. Do you know if it's safe to install this to an existing site without wreaking the site? I would hate to think I hosed the site just to use a simple tag attribute...

Thanks again!

I heard back from the RadEditor forum and the only simple solution (and continue to use Radediter) is to disable the "ConvertToXHTML" filter via the host HTML editor manager. I tried it and it works, although I'm not too sure what else I'm giving up...

Thanks again!
