Hi there,

As I understood from the JIRA of DNN the Google Analytics module has been discontinued? See https://dnntracker.atlassian.net/browse/DNN-9383

What does this mean for the implementation method? what is now the standard method of implementing Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager?

It's a shame this is not the standard and communicated properly since I think everybody uses this method or at least for GTM purposes?

Hope to hear from you

Hi there,

I'm still waiting for response for two months now? Is there no answer to this issue?

Lennard, you can either inject it using http://www.willstrohl.com/Blog/Tag/co... or use any 3rd party module that is specially made for this task like https://weweave.net/products/dnn-goog...

I never used the DNN GA module. If you use Google Analytics, just add the js file to the bottom of the page in the skin. If you use GTM, then use (free) 40fingers style helper addtobodytop, this works great.
Personally, I try to avoid GTM as you now have 2 js calls, 1 to GTM and it calls GA. I try to combine all my js files with a grunt file and then use only 1 js file.
Although DNN has Client Resource Management, I have never been able to get this to work on any site - usually the menus fail to work.

See this...

I overwrote the siteanaylics config and implemented GTM that way. Obviously if you have multiple portals you'll want another solution. Real nice of DNN to warn us they were discontinuing this feature. Why is it not a site setting?
