I started with this tutorial and figured it wouldn't be hard to paste simple ASPX pages into a DNN module.

I apparently missed something, because even the simplest pages (that don't have any CS code behind) give me this exception.  I'm completely new to DNN so this may be something hilariously easy--I apologize if I somehow missed this (though I spent over an hour Googling I got a lot of results for DNN7; we're experimenting with DNN9 Platform with the end goal of Evoq purchase).

It will be hard to help without the actual code, but I suspect it is something to do with master pages...

An aspx file can reference a master page, but in Dnn you are actually building controls (ascx) which I don't think support master pages.

In Dnn, you can think of your Skin or Theme as your master page.
