Hello,

I have a custom module with export/import features support. It works fine in all scenarios except this one:

1. I do full export of whole site on DNN 9.1

2. Install new DNN 9,1

3. Copy exported content from old DNN to new one to (App_Data/ExportImport folder)

4. Do import from Setting Export/Import

Everything is imported, except the contents of the database. After I manually install my module to the new site - database contents appear. Weird.

So, I have two questions:

1. How can I debug full site import?

2. If there any major difference between importing to a site which has a module installed and to site which does NOT have it?

Thanks,

Nick

With this being a custom module, I'm not sure anyone could tell you anything specific about how to debug it. However, is this something that's specific to DNN 9.xx? Does it work on other versions?

You need to make sure yourself that all required extensions are installed on the target site - these are NOT included in site export/import.

Hi Sebastian,

I'm confused, because I see my (custom) extensions in export_packages.zip and other export archives, moreover after importing, the extension are present, but with no content. It looks like a bug.

Thanks,

Nick

this sounds like a new feature, and it might still rely on ModuleDefID, which might not be the same on source and target site.
please make sure, the bug is logged in the public tracker at support.dnnsoftware.com
