Bob,

Did you assign deployment permissions to that user in the module (Settings :: Extensions, then edit the module where this user should be able to deploy, and add the user or group to the permissions in the "Site Settings" tab)? When the user has no deployment permissions for any module, he can't add a new one to a page, even if he has edit permissions for the page.

Normally (afair) a user is allowed to add pages below the page where he has editing permissions. I don't know if this behaviour has changed somewhen, but I don't think so.

Happy DNNing!
Michael

Hi Michael,

Excellent! Thanks much. You've shown me how to correct the first issue.

The second issue though still stands. There are still a lot of roads for me to follow in DNN as far as options/adjustments and you've shown me a new avenue.

I'll poke around some more and see if/where the setting might be to limit page access.

Bob

For anyone following this....

After an extended period of scouring the persona bar (a great learning experience) I came to the conclusion that there is no setting for what I'm looking for.

HOWEVER....had I tried to actually create a new page in the first place instead of just looking at the drop down contents, I would have saved myself a lot of trouble. Regardless of what is selected in the drop down 'Parent Page' list, the newly created page will be installed as a child of the current page.

Problem solved!

Still not sure I like the fact that a user can see every page on the site in that list though.

Note: there will be more configuration options including permissions in future versions of DNN (starting with DNN 9.2.0, scheduled to be released later this year).
