@James:

Thanks for starting this great thread.  It's very valuable to have communication across all fronts on things that can be improved and how.  Your perspective is unique and welcome, just like everyone else's.  With this being an open source community though, we all depend on each other for participation.

It would be super awesome of you and it would help out the entire community a lot if you could submit a pull request to the project that updates the documentation to reflect what you wish you had seen in the first place, now that you know the answer.

Hi Will,

I think a "pull" request would be overkill given the official point of distribution is the very github page we are talking about (https://github.com/DNN-Connect/DNN-Blog/releases ). A Simple edit of the page would suffice adding..

  • Change: Dependency moved up to DNN 8.x.x

... to the 6.3.0 Release.

This would be consistent with dependency notifications for prior versions and eliminate ambiguity of the phrase "Release for DNN 8 only!!!" (stated only for 6.3.0), as it relates to future release(s) (plural).

James, I am sorry if I offended you. You were attacking (very strongly I might add) DNN Corp for something they aren't even in control of. No, I don't work for DNN Corp, but I know first hand how much they are doing to help revitalize this DNN Community. My intent was to share with you the facts so you could be better informed. It was not my intent to attack you at all. My intent was to encourage you to get involved and utilize the skills you have to help a project that obviously needs some help. I'm sure Peter would welcome your expertise to help make it more clear which versions of the Blog module are supported in which versions of DNN.

You're not offending me, but you are putting words into my mouth and you don't have to "encourage (me) to get involved" I have been involved in projects using DNN since even before it was called DotNetNuke (iBuySpy). How long have you been "involved"?

Again, It’s “holier than thou” posts like yours that discourage folks from participating.

That's outstanding!  We definitely look forward to you being more involved in the future, no matter how big or small the pull request may be.  :)

Let's see if the edit I recommend gets made and we will go from there.  ;-)
