If you can not see the Persona Bar AT ALL, you need access to your database,

go to the HostSettings Table then to the SettingName column look for the field value ControlPane and make sure it has DesktopModules/admin/Dnn.PersonaBar/UserControls/PersonaBarContainer.ascx for the SettingValue field.


If you have upgraded from an older version , initially you will see the path of the legacy control-bar, which does not work with 9.1 and above

Thanks for the reply. I had already checked that one and the setting is correct.  i.e. /DesktopModules/admin/Dnn.PersonaBar/UserControls/PersonaBarContainer.ascx

This problem really has me stumped.  Not sure where to go from here

I was able to get the PersonaBar to show by removing the PersonaBarModule entry from the web.config. Obviously back it up first and whatnot, but just commenting out that line in the modules section:


I'm not really sure why that makes it appear, but I noticed that that line was not in the _Install.zip's web.config.

This does not solve all my problems with the PersonaBar though—I'm still getting errors on many PersonaBar API calls. Those are a collection of 500s and 401s, and I'm currently trying to remediate them.
