Hi, We're trying to deploy the repository module on our intranet site, but are running into an odd problem: file uploads work correctly, files are being stored correctly on the server, but once a user tries to donwload the file with the download button, most files become either empty 10 Byte files or multiples of 16 kB (containing a bit of the file). I've been looking around with various IIS compression options (enabled, disabled, disable for dynamic content), proxy options (with and without an MS ISA proxy between users, tweaking the wpad.. ).. It seems that sometimes things work for some users, but mostly they just recieve either empty or damaged files. Nothing like this happens with other modules on the site. (also when downloading the files through direct links or file explorers..) Is there any direction in which to look to fix this problem ?

Hmmm I've never heard of multiple 16kb files being downloaded. What happens if you try to download a Repository file via the File Manager? Does it download properly then? That'll narrow down whether it's something specific in the Repository download process that's not working with your setup or if it's something in the DNN core that's not working.

Can you please let us know the following...

1. what version of DotNetNuke?
2. what version of the Repository module?
3. what version of SQL Server? SQL Server Express?
4. any changes to the default Repository Settings on the Module Settings page?

Thanks, the answers will help us troubleshoot your issue more effectively

Thank you all for the replies, so here goes: Mikeh: good point. I was first trying to download the files just by having an explorer open, which downloaded correctly, while the files don't download correctly from the file manager. Odd, since the site has been up for months, and we've don't experience any other download problems with other modules. sfabian:Here's the whole list: DNN version is 3.1.1 Repository module is 03.01.10 running on SQL Server 2000 / IIS6 (windows 2003 server No changes to any default settings in the Module settings. I'm actually quite surprised that the file manager is not working right now for these files, since every other file works perfectly outside the repository folder. Should I find anything myself I'll let you know as well. cheers, Leon

P.S. on my previous reply, it seems that shaould have been No, the whole file manager is not working for downloads. I probably assumed it did, since I only use it for uploads and deletion, so the repository module is not to blame here, but DNN at some level is doing weird things.
