Since updating to DNN 9.0.2 my language dropdown does not switch languages. No error, it just stays on the same language. For example, on an English page, change the dropdown to French, the dropdown momentarily switches to French, the page refreshes, and the page and dropdown are back to the same page in English. I see no errors in Fiddler or in the Chrome developer tab.
When I turn off the dropdown and just use the Flags, the language switch works fine.
One other interesting point that may be a clue to the solution: The dropdown works when I am logged in as admin.

I was mistaken on the version, we are on DNN 9.1.1.



I have performed debugging with Chrome Developer Tools and I see the postback occurring via the __doPostBack method.  I don't see any differences between what is being posted back when I am logged in as an admin vs. when I am not. In both cases the eventTarget is selectCulture and the eventParameter is an empty string. When I am logged in as an admin the page switches languages as expected. No errors that I can see in either case. I'm almost out of ideas on how to troubleshoot.
