Through my experience learning to develop modules, persistency of custom module settings has been difficult and hard to find information on. It seems that all the modules I have built have issues saving settings to SQL. I want to ask, How do you persist your custom module settings?

Today I discovered the use of SettingsRepository<T> as seen here: http://sourcebrowser.io/Browse/dnnsoftware/Dnn.Platform/DNN%20Platform/Library/Entities/Modules/Settings/SettingsRepository.cs

It appears to rely on Attributes in a custom settings class to determine where to save the settings. Is this recommended / correct to use?
