How can I get pass though this total failure?

Accessing Global Catalog:
FAIL
Checking Root Domain:
FAIL
Accessing LDAP:
FAIL
Find all domains in network:
Could not access LDAP to obtain domains info
The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted

Here are the details:

My .NET app resides on a Win 2003 Server with IIS6 in the DMZ (not on LAN)
Win 2000 AD tree can be accessed through a dedicated server via IP + nonstandard port (not 389) + username + password (read-only permissions)... By accessing AD I mean I can view the tree via LDAP browser

So, once again, IIS and AD are on two different servers (physically and virtually) + IIS machine is not part of AD domain and, as far as I can tell, cant see AD server

So far I was able to authenticate only users with local machine accounts... I also tried setting up Digest authentication (by entering IP of the AD server) to no avail...

Could someone help me out with this please... I am totally stuck here...

The exact settings are:

ADSIAuthenticationProvider
Deligation
ldap://101.101.101.101:555/DC=mydomain,DC=com
mydomain\myuser (also tried without the domain and myuser@mydomain.com)
mypassword

I have the same problem: from the webserver I can navigate the remote LDAP (AD) directory using support tools (ADSI Edit), from within DNN 4.3.6 I get that error.
Any hint about this?
thank you.

See if the users created have permissions to “log on”. In AD administration, select properties of a user, select “Tab Account” and the button “Log On To”.

I know this is a really old thread, but I'm having the same issues with configuring 5.0.6 on Win2008R2 with 7.3.4.

The server running DNN is not joined to the domain (workgroup).

I get the following error when trying to configure the provider using either the "DC=domain,DC=local" or "LDAP://domain.local" Syntax.

System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x8007054B): The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted. at System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryEntry.Bind(Boolean throwIfFail) at System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryEntry.Exists(String path) at DotNetNuke.Authentication.ActiveDirectory.ADSI.Configuration..ctor()

Any help you could give to point in the right direction would be appreciated.

Thanks!

FOLLOW UP: I ran "nslookup domain.local" and it does return info about the proper DC so I know it can find it.
