Hi,
On our site we have moved the logs out of the default path by editing the DotNetNuke.log4net.config

LogFailures.xml.resources still going into default folder but the other log files are correctly going into the c:\log folder

Why isn't the LogFailures.xml.resources going into this folder. This is important to us as the default folder is part of the website and is therefore being copied during the syncing of our two webservers. This causes the log file to be syncing which isn;t what we want!

Can anyone tell me how to get the LogFailures.xml.resources to go into the correct folder?

Thanks in advance,
Neil.

We would also like to know how to change the location for the files "LogFailures.xml.resources"

Neil,

just tried that - I changed

<file value="Portals/_default/Logs/" />

to

<file value="D:\Logs\Web\DNN\" />

So this is completely outside the web root, and I only created the folder D:\Logs. After granting modify permissions to the app pool identity that DNN uses (e.g. IIS AppPool\DNN) to that folder, it created the structure D:\Logs\Web\DNN, and the logfile there.

After changing the line

<datePattern value="yyyy.MM.dd'.log.resources'" />

to

<datePattern value="yyyy_MM_dd_hh'.dnn-log.xml'" />

the name of the log file looks like "2019_05_29_11.dnn-log.xml"

Happy DNNing!
Michael
