hello from switzerland,

i created a website with dnn 4, sql server 2000 and windows server 2000.
now i have to test, if we can change the server into ms server 2003.

i copied the website from server2000 to server2003, made a virtual directory, put the permissions "modify" to the group network service. i made all that i have readed in the install instructions.

i setted an alias name width the new server name and virtual-directory name in dnn.

database sql server is on a separate server. that should not be the problem.

the site on the server2003 is not working... the error 404 is displayed. what have i forgotten?

has there anybody a tip for me?
i think the problem is because of server2003 security, but what???

Thank you for any ideas.

Cheers,
René

In the Web Service Extensions in the bottom of the IIS Manager, is aspnet 2 enabled?

yes, aspnet 2 is enabled. when i change to 1.1 there is another error:

Server Error in '/dnn2' Application.

Runtime Error

Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Since it's dnn 4, it'll need to be set to aspnet 2.

Are you able to view static files from the web site, such as logo.gif, when you go to them directly?
