History:  I installed DNN 4.0.3, upgraded to 4.3.0.  After this upgrade my Documents module stopped working.  What I mean by that is that all of the documents were listed in the module, but if a user clicked on one, it would never load.  I recently nabbed the Documents 3.1.5 from sourceforge and attempted to install it to no avail.  I ran the 3.1.1 SqlDataProvider, changing all of the appropriate things, and also the 3.1.2  I replaced the DotNetNuke.Modules.Documents.dll and DotNetNuke.Modules.Documents.SqlDataProvider.dll in the bin directory with the ones in the install version of the Document module download.  I replaced the rest of the files in my \DesktopModules\Documents folder with the ones from the Download.  Now, when I click on a file, it opens a blank page.

Did I do something wrong?

DNN 4.3.0 is first release candidate, I rcommend to upgrade to DNN 4.3.3, as some issues in this area have been solved.

try to upload the documents module again, following these steps:

  • download latest documents version from project download page
  • backup web site and database
  • delete /desktopmodules/documents folder
  • log in as host, go to module definitions in host menu
  • click upload new module, browse for module zip, add it to the list
  • click upload and check install log
  • check your site now.

If the error persists, ask here again.

StartJob

I followed your instructions and this is the error I get.

Begin Sql execution

Info Executing 03.01.01.SqlDataProvider
StartJob Start Sql execution: 03.01.01.SqlDataProvider file
Failure SQL Execution resulted in following Exceptions: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Invalid column name 'CreatedByUser'. at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlInternalConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection) at System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.ThrowExceptionAndWarning(TdsParserStateObject stateObj) at System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.Run(RunBehavior runBehavior, SqlCommand cmdHandler, SqlDataReader dataStream, BulkCopySimpleResultSet bulkCopyHandler, TdsParserStateObject stateObj) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.RunExecuteNonQueryTds(String methodName, Boolean async) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.InternalExecuteNonQuery(DbAsyncResult result, String methodName, Boolean sendToPipe) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.ExecuteNonQuery() at DotNetNuke.Data.SqlDataProvider.ExecuteADOScript(String SQL) at DotNetNuke.Data.SqlDataProvider.ExecuteScript(String Script, Boolean UseTransactions) IF NOT (SELECT COLUMNPROPERTY( OBJECT_ID('dbo.Documents'),'CreatedByUser','AllowsNull')) IS NULL UPDATE dbo.Documents SET CreatedByUserID = CreatedByUser
EndJob End Sql execution: 03.01.01.SqlDataProvider file

Any further ideas?  Should I go into SQL server and delete the tables associated with the Document Modules?
