SMTP
I'm trying to set up my DNN 4.3.3 on my local XP pro pc for smtp but I'm getting this error when I test from the advanced settings area.
I have Comcast and the server is smtp.comcast.net

"Mailbox unavailable. The server response was: [PERMFAIL] localhost requires valid sender domain "

Does anyone have any ideas about this?  I have Outlook hooked up to comcast on the same pc and it works fine.

Which setting did you apply this to?

I put mine into the SMTP area and it works well. (locally that is - when i run from 1 computer with outlook and dev stuff, and the other computer where I browse the sites from )

Check the Host account and make sure it has a valid email address.

Not sure I follow.
I applied this to Host setting > advanced settings > host settings.  I put in my credentials and hit "test".  That's when I get this error.   I must be missing something.
