So, I'd like to set up a user group that is allowed to edit the content of TEXT/HTML modules, but not be able to edit the page itself.  I'm running DNN 4.3.3 which I upgraded to from DNN 4.3.1.

I've given the role permission to edit the module by changing the settings directly on the module but have run into 2 problems.

First, the modules have been set up to hide the container so that they don't display to anyone visiting the site.  The problem is that the editors cannot see the module container if they don't have edit permission to the entire page, so they are unable to see the edit menu.

Second, if I display the container to the user, the only 2 options they see in the menu are "Help" and "Online help" and they are unable to see the content of the module.

Is there something I'm missing or is this a bug?

Thanks

David

use a blank container with an action menu (Nina used to have one for free at her site www.xd.com.au) to solve first problem. I am not sure about second issue, I am sure, it worked. But I have to admin, that I refuse to install the new version of Text/HTML with inline editing, as this is too confusing for my users.

It appears to be a bug so far as I can tell. You have the same problem I have detailed here: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/ForumsDotNetNuke/tabid/795/forumid/108/threadid/55711/scope/posts/Default.aspx

Please check my first post there and see what you think.
