Good idea.  I hadn't thought of that one.  Just make sure you turn off the auto-unlock feature.

Along the same lines, I was just looking at the database table "aspnet_Membership" and I noticed that there is a field called IsApproved.  Setting this to false had the same effect as locking a user out.  What specific purpose does this field play?  Is it used during the registration process, after a user enters the varification code they are approved?

The reason I ask is that I am thinking this could be a better alternative rather than just locking out the users.  (Adjusting the lock out resetting time could open things up a bit more to brute forcing attacks).

Any thoughts on this?
