Just installed forum for the first time ever ... forum version 3.20.06 on DNN 4.0.3

At first I thought it was pretty fantastic, but then it started behaving very badly :(

It looks great when logged in as admin or host but has several bad problems (yes I have given module edit rights to registered users)

1. Logged in as a registered user, and only some of the forums are visible, login as host, all are visible
ie there are 2 groups each has 2 forums, host sees 2 groups, and all 4 forums, user sees 2 groups, but only 1 forum per group

2. On firefox the CSS is not linking properly and the forum shows with no theme (looks awful). host and registered user both do this.

3. Sometimes after a postback the forum gets screwed up and only uses about 1/3rd of the content pane.  I saw this happen as host as well, and could see that the page skins right pane was displaying inside the module itself!

4. I suspect it doesnt handle posts with characters like "&" eg forum title is "bits & pieces" -> when renamed to "bits and pieces" then problem #1 and #3 above seemed to go away

help pls! :)  can someone say how to get it to work in forefox, and if characters like & < >, ' etc are allowed in forum titles

Thanks

JK.

I am having the same issue with qany custom theme that I have created.  Evendown to copying one of the standard themes, renaming the folder (and the css), then simply changing a text color makes the theme be completely removed.  Did you ever get this resolved?

There is definately a problem in how you are doing the theme. I just did a new forum theme on 3.20.08 and everything worked as expected. Please make sure you are using hte latest version of the module first.

I have been holding off two major overhauls of the forum, theme ability (to work more like skinning) and the email system. These will be tackled one at a time eventually, but not till other serious issues are worked out first.
