Another thing you can try is to register the client scripts for asp.net 2.0 again

C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_regiis -c

Well, I got off to a bad start this morning; both of the DNN installs wouldn't respond through the browser: just a 'Page won't load' error.  I tried rebooting the server, still no effect.

I tried registering the ASP .NET client scripts againa as you suggested, and that at least recovered the sites. Trying to do a Login as host, the whole Application Pool shut itself down again.

Basically, i can get one page to load, the the whole app pool shuts itself down.   What the heck is going on I need to get some work done! :)

I'm no expert in debugging logs but I believe the following error is related: Warning W3SVC 0 1011

Rob founds where there was a different HttpModule (not compression) causing this problem in this thread:

You might want to try disabling any non-core HttpModules in your web.config like he did.

Funny thing is, I just installed that exact module from Snowcovered about 3 days ago. I just went and checked that I had the latest patch (although i'm thinking I already had the right version, as the new .DLL byte size is exactly the same as the old .DLL, plus the patch date is older than my date of purchase).

I had already tried using a pretty 'virgin' web.config to fix this problem today (excluding this email cloaker DLL) and still have no luck: the first page of the site will load up, or maybe 1.5 pages, then I get a 'Service Unavailable' for all my (2) sites running ASP .NET.

Is there any way to clear the site cache outside of using the Admin inside DNN? I had it set on Heavy File Caching, but I'm not seeing any 'Cache' directory in the DNN structure.

I guess this is two seperate issues now, I'm assuming if I ever get back into my Site Settings, this posting problem will be resolved. But how the heck do I get my sites to stop pooching the whole .NET app pool every page load?!

You are right.  This is a new problem, you should start a new thread.

To answer your question though, set your caching back to memory and see if that fixes it.

Since you probably can't get to the host settings page then you'll need to do it in the DB > HostSettings table:

ModuleCaching = M
