Hi,

I've just installed DNN 4.3.3 and am trying to set it up to replace our existing web site.

I want to make use of the announcements module as I have seen it on this and other sites, where the "read more" link appears at the end of a line of text.

I can get the "Read More" link to display, but it is on a seperate line.  I would like to have the link on the end of the last line of the announcement.

How can I achieve this?

Steve.

In the latest release, each module instance cna use a template. This template is editable from the settings of the module and one of the elements is th[MORE] tag, which you can place where you find more suitable.

Do you know the truth when you hear it?

Unfortunatly, in Annoucements (DNN) 4.3 the tokens are

The default templage (included below)

<span class="SubHead">[TITLE] - [PUBLISHDATE]</span><br>[DESCRIPTION] <a href="[URL]" target="[NEWWINDOW]">[MORE]</a><br>

Produces the description in the annoucement, which it is supposed to, in this background grey colour.   However, if the template is modified to produce jsut the titile and a read more link would I use:

<span class="SubHead">[TITLE]</span><br> <a href="[URL]" target="[NEWWINDOW]">[MORE]</a><br>

When I do, neither the "read more..." or the hyperlink to the description content are available.

Any suggestions anyone?

TIA.

Hooligannes 2.0,

I use the following syntax in the settings for the module instance:

<span class="SubHead">[TITLE]</span><div class="Normal DNN_ANN_Description">[DESCRIPTION]&nbsp;<a href="[URL]" target="[NEWWINDOW]">[MORE]</a></div><br>

I would like the title of the annoucement to appear with a READ MORE... hyperlink to the full description.

I place the syntax in the template but it does not take.  I am on a shared hosting provider in medium trust mode (the worse possible hosting company GoDaddy #@&^%@ - I know I am moving my entire operation as far away from them as possible.  Until then any advice with the annoucement setting is greatly appreciated.

Still no response on this.   For DNN ever to succeed there just has to be more active efforts.

Anyone out there..... Hello.....

The dark cave engulfed Trebor as he looked around confused and worried.  "Hello.  Is anyone there," he repeated to no avail.  The echo reverberated off the dark cave walls.  The abandoned cave offered little hope or comfort in finding Answer.  “Answer, can you hear me,” Trebor yelled with his hands cupped by his mouth.

Nothing.

Trebor confident that Answer had to be nearby ventured deeper into the cave.  However, in the back of his mind he was anxious.  The time spent hoping to find Answer might prove frustrating, consuming, and arouse a sense of hopelessness.  A feeling Trebor feared as he was often warned by his friends Nix and Lin that their way was better.  If Trebor gave up on finding Answer and DiNN he would have to take Lin's and Nix advice, which would forver keep Trebor away.

“Answer.  You there.  Answer can you hear me.   Answer, it is me Trebor.  I want to ask you about announcements and why they don’t seem to be working.”

Nothing, yet.
