I just released Magic Content (aka pnc: Content)  under the BSD license. Many people liked the module and I would like to give back something to the community, so I decided to not longer sell the source as part of the subscription modell but rather give it away for free.

I am successfully using Magic Content in over 30 portal installations now, it's main features are

  • Multi Language support - rendering one instance of the default dnn editor for each activated locale of a portal, each one having its own dhtml tab
  • Multi Language support - set module title depending on the locale of the user while editing content
  • Stores images / files with its fileid in the database - no more broken links after moving file in the portal home directory
  • Multi Content support - stores / renders content depending on the user roles; the module completely hides itself from users for whom no content is stored
  • Dynamic token support - parses outputted html for typical portal token like portalname, username, time, etc...
  • Send out Newsletters - ability to send out content to configurable user roles, content is being sent in the locale of the recipient

The module is available for registered users from our website

An onlinedemo will be made available soon.

While adding the onlinedemo to the showcase I found another minor bug, 02.00.08 has been just uploaded.

Here is an onlinedemo of the module

I just installed the module and it looks great!  Very good work.

If I can be so bold as to list a few enhancements I would love to see:

  1. Versioning of content
  2. Workflow (Author, Editor, Publisher)
  3. Cascading Content, i.e. ability to display multiple version of the content in the various tabs.  This would take the control one step further and make it able to be used as a full Newsletter control where you could have either various newsletters for templates, or simple display old newsletters for users to see.

Just some thoughts.

Thanks for the GREAT Module!!!

I'll have to check that, what exact Bug are you talking about?

Robert, thanks for the kind words, I'm not sure about #3 though - what exactly would you like to achieve?
