Hi - I am using the latest 3.3.4 module with the 4.3.3 core.
I have an announcements module set up with user with a role enabled edit the announcements.
All users have view access to the page, the module inherits view access from the page settings.

As an admin I created some announcements - all fine.
After logging out, I can still see the announcements - all fine.
When logging in as a user with edit rights to the module, all announcments created by the admin are not visible - Strange!!!

Is this a bug ?

Could you verify the Publish Date? Only administrators see unpublished announcements (future dated), which might explain the issue.

Do you know the truth when you hear it?

Still have the problem with future and past dated announcements.
it is odd that non logged in users see them, but users with edit and view permission can not.

Looks like it is time to dig into the code!
Does anyone know where the VB code is for the core modules with the 4.* releases ?
It is not packaged with the source code download...

p.s. Maybe the next version with the return of the expiry date will resolve this also.

source code IS packaged with the source download, somewhat hidden though, in the dnn_announcement.resources file (which is a zip file), which will be unpacked upon installing (so yes: the you can install the source version over the install version)

btw.. my guess is that it's some kind of caching issue.. can you check if setting the module cache to 0 (in the module settings) helps at all?

cheers,

Erik

Setting the cache to 0 has resolved the issue, now the logged in user can view and edit the announcements.

Thanks for the suggestion and timely feedback to help get my system operational.

I'll take a look into the resource file for the vb source code. Is this a documented VS 2005/ASP.NET 2.0 feature, or special to DNN ?
