I have a skin, properly packaged for the right DNN version, but it seems I can't get anything to upload? using upload skin and using the File Manager? ... even just a text file! Got any solutions?

Sorry, but why can't I just upload the skin (via ftp) to the server (unzipped) to the specific skin directory? Or is there an application I can directly upload and download files to the DNN? ps. I am running 4.0.2 on ASP 2.0 with MSSQL.

Have you checked permissions?

You don't generally upload skins through the file manager.

What is happening? Page just hanging, errors in log file? Message on screen? Server timing out? Is this a custom skin? Do any other skins install? Is this a new build or an upgrade? Is the site working properly apart from the skin not uploadin?

A little more information will help us steer you in right direction.

You can upload via ftp.

But if there is somethign wrong with skin and you refresh page.. you' will need to upload another one to fix it.

The skin works as I had it on the site before I had to rebuild. My problem started when I was trying to upload a module, and it didnt even make it, just refreshed back to the module definition list. So I had my web host reinstall the DNN (4.0.2- ASP 2.0) all over again and install a new SQL(MS) db. My problem is that I can't install or upload anything whatsoever. My host's technical support managed to upload my modules(i have no idea how?) but I can't keep asking them all the time to do so - to the point it would get ridiculous. I just want to know why I can even get a *.txt file through the file manager? So in theory I should be able to upload the skin via FTP, then parse it? Is this correct? or syncronize database and file system if uploading other files? Sorry I am at a loss to what i can do? :(
