I'm really excited about this, but I'm just not skilled and/or confident enough to go and mangle the web.config. I don't know if I'm supposed to replace or add stuff to the file to make FCK work.

Does anyone have a web.config for a plain vanilla 4.3.3 installation which has been configured for FCK (I'm on localhost and I've gotten the provider and bin stuff done).

If you do, feel free to email me at manning@bikeme.tv

**** WARNING ***

you cannot take over a web.config from another user, as there are specific encryption keys in your web.config and database connections strings, that needs to be preserved on any changes (including updates), otherwise your portal will break.

Please follow the installation notes inside the FCK download, it should be easy to adopt your web.config accordingly. Locopon also provided an installer for the editor and provider, but I don't know, if it has been adopted to the current version.

Ah, well thanks for that.

I found the web-config rather daunting, but I am so over FTB I'll try anything. I'll create a new instance of DNN locally, and if I screw it up, oh well - try again.

just backup your existing web.config file.  If you botch it, just copy the backup over the modified (working copy) and try again.  It's not like you are going to fry the whole system because of a config file error.
