I have just finished asp.net grid control. It's different in many ways from others: with innovative data access, built-in forms, bulk import/export to office applications, works without viewstate and postback, with filtering, sorting, paging,  etc, etc...

…and the most important: works with all versions of Dotnetnuke.

Check the million records demo page (with Dotnetnuke examples on the bottom).

Free for personal/non-commercial/academic use.

Hello pril,

Very nice.  How hard would it be to configure this to update the Core Events Module database table?

I guess the problem would be with fields such as dates, making sure a valid date is entered.

What we want to do is allow the end user to update their calendars from excel, so they don't have to deal with the slow interface for each event.  The current import feature doesn't seem to work, so this seems like an alternative.

Any ideas?

Hello, jastos,

There shouldn’t be problems with dates or other fields at all. Object has built-in validators in two server-side levels (when convert data to db mapped type and when try to update values) but you can also add “standard” or custom asp validators for client-side and server-side validation. Some of this validators are also available within indooGrid object  (see example) like email check (syntax, server and mailbox), integer, number, date, etc…

I create example for you with EventLog table (browse and edit data), see http://www.components.init.si/grid/manual/example11.aspx - the third example.  I add client side validator to datetime field for this case.

Object also offer some export-import functions so you can export data to clipboard, paste to excel, change and update changes within object back to database. Import function has also bouilt-in validation.

BTW: because some minor fixes (localization text problems) I recommend you to download last version of indooGrid object.
