Hello,

I'm rather new to this, so this might be a n00b question. Is it possible to have all localizations stored in another repository than resource files? For example text files, xml files, databse, web service ...

Something like that is mentioned in the documentation. But all it says is that it 'could' be done.

Any advice?

no, the current implementation uses a file bases localization structure, comparable to asp.net 2.0 (even not identical)

The files are actually xml files, so also text files. DNN Resource files are not compiled and distributed as dlls but as the original .resx files.

But to answer your question: no, this is not possible, since all the DNN localization architecture is based on these files.
