Don't know if anyone else is intested in this, but I developed two skin objects for my own use, and I thought I'd share, if anyone wants it.

First is a site map, that simply crawls the *public* tabs on your site, and creates a "unordered list" style (using divs, not a list) site map. Use CSS to change color/look/link style, etc. Its not a plug and play thing, but if you know how to insert skin objects, you'll have no problem. email me if you want the code.

Second is a link extractor for creating a *non-dynamic* menu. This is for times, like at the top of the DNN site, where you've got a custom, image based menu, and you want to use static, html style links, but are running on DNN, where the tab ID can change on you. This uses the DNN API to just query for your tabname, and return the correct URL. This is also a skin object, just set it up, and get to using the methods.

There are also several functions, such as return just the next tier of "children" of the current tab, and things like that. I am working on providing a complete set of use scenarios so you can use this to do whatever kind of menu building you would want.

These are aimed at people with some familiarity with writing and consuming .NET code, not the end user who wants a point and click menu building. These are really just skinner's tools.

not to rain on your parade, but there is an easier way w/o any coding - just create a skin and use a SOLPARTMENU (or a second one if you're already using it for the nav menu) and use the following property:

forcefull menulist

true

Displays the full menu as an indented list of normal hyperlinks, much like a sitemap (values: true, false).
