So, here I am with what is supposed to be the end all of web portals and none of the people who have control over the system have any answers. I can't flame. I can't say anything negative because "Big Brother" will not allow my post to go through. I have not had any responses from "the install team", except "Gee, that's just the kind of feedback we are looking for." And then silence! What the heck is the deal. Did you guys not upgrade from 2.1 to 3 or 4. Did you just start with a new portal and forget about the people that helped to propel the smirkish looking Shaun Walker et al to new heights. Is there no one at DotNetNuke who is even interested in helping people move from one version to the other. The install program does not work period. Look how many hits this has got. People who are at 2.1 would like to goto 3 or 4 but there is no help. There is a lot of hype and boy do the royalties on the books sound like a lucrative trade. But, where is the grass roots portal people who were going to be there, even if no one else was going to. Talk about LAME! I would hope someone from the "TEAM" would get there act together and provide some real answers instead of links that lead no where. What, did you guys all get hired by Microsoft or something. Is anyone even out there. If you are monitoring whether or not this will make it, do me a favor and send it to someone in the "TEAM" to get an answer for us.

Believe me, my keyboard is on fire! But "BIG BROTHER" is monitoring and doesn't want anybody's feelings hurt! Get off your duff and get some answers or are you guys too busy promoting your next book. Come on!

I'm upgrading from 3.0.1 to 3.nn and having a similar issue. I can get the site up, but can't login, it just throws the "StartIndex cannot be less than zero. Parameter name: startIndex" error.

If you hear of a solution to your problem... maybe it will open the door to mine as well. I've run the upgrade 4 or 5 times with the same result.

ANY help would be welcome.

Thanks,

I feel your pain. Our 2.12 -> 3.2.2 upgrade was a nightmare. I'm not realy sure how we got it to work, but after the 15th try, it worked. Thinking back, I believe we left the machine keys alone (I don't think you need to mess with those unless your upgrading version 3 or 4 DNN). What I would suggest is upgrading to an earlier version of DNN, maybe 3.1 or 3.2, then upgrading to the latest version. Perhaps too much has changed from the current version and 2.12
