I'm currently using DNN 4.03 and have had problems loading new modules. When attempting to load a new module, after the upload it takes me back to the module def screen. Is there an error log that I can check to see what has happened? After several attempts on several computers I have not been able to successfully load new modules. I'm using XP and IE for the browser. All service packs and patches are up todate.

you get an installation report displayed on installation and there is also an event log entry with the install log included. Please notice, that modules need to be uploaded via Module Definitions in Host Menu, using the "upload New Module" command.

The following steps are being used: Host -> Module Definitions -> Upload New Module -> Browse -> Open -> Add -> Upload New File ->> At this point something fails and I get returned to the Module Definitions page. Normally there is a display of results, but now I get returned to the Module Definitions page without loading the module.

I have tried un-zipping the file, and from 3 different machines, with no success. Tech support for two recently purchased modules were able to load their products for me, but they had no idea why it worked for them and not for me. I'm currently trying to upload the Inventua-DNNUpdate DNN Service Module for DotNetNuke 3 and 4  - V3.0.13.

I've seen this issue several times running DNN under ASP.NET 2 when uploading a variety of modules and skins.  The workaround is to force an app recycle by editing web.config, then immediately go and upload/install the module.

Thanks for the feedback, it turns out to be the IE security setting. I had to change the security to LOW to get the module to load. Once loaded it was changed back to medium.
