Hello

In my  DNN 4.3.4 web config file I have adjusted value both settings as required:

value="Server=MySERVER;Database=MyDatabase;uid=MyUsername;pwd=MyPassword;"

Because my hosting provider is using MS SQL Server 2000 I understand that I need to replace the SQLExpress part in the following string of code with the appropriate expression.

<!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005 Express -->

<add

name="SiteSqlServer"

connectionString="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|Database.mdf;"

providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />

<!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005 Express - kept for backwards compatability - legacy modules -->

<add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|Database.mdf;"/>

I have tried every connotation I can think of to declare SQL Server 2000, each time I get an install error.

What is the correct expression or what else do I need to change?

Thanks

make sure, sql authentication is allowed. Possibly your host has multiple database server intances on the same physical server, so you need to write server like "server/instance".
