In order to secure images used in HTML content that would be edited by users in different roles, I created some Secure folders in the File Manager (Secure File System although I think the same is true for Secure - Database).

However I'm unsure whether it is possible to use these images in the HTML module as I can't see how they would be referenced? With the insecure version the HTML <A> tag could be used to point to the portal/0/images/myimage.gif link, however in both secure versions this link no longer works.

Neither the FCK or FTB3 html editors provide a way of accessing these files.

Is there another way?

I've also been unable to use secure folders in the XML module either (XML or XSL files). Whilst they can be specified in the configuration, when viewing the results the module reports the following error "Could not find the file ...". Moving the file is an insecure folder resolves the issue.

Are the modules now having to play catch-up in order to take advantage of this new feature?

YOu can kind of call it catch-up, but the modules should have been using the core's URL Controller long before this secure change. The only way to take advantage of this is to use the URLController in each module. Now in the case of the HTML editors, this requires the providers being re-written for each and basing the gallery each exposes on the file system. This is not really catch-up either here, as I have seen Telerik doing this for awhile.

Thanks for your prompt reply. Even excluding the HTML editors, would the HTML source still need a url that can return these files from the secure storage - something like getfile.aspx?portalid=0&id=234 - if that was available the html source could be manually edited?

Cheers

Kevin
