How do I display a registered user's first name inside of a Text/HTML module?  For instance, a registered user logs in, and I want to display a personal message like "Welcome back John".  Any idea how to do this?

This is not possible with a normal module - it would have to be designed to do this (personalization).

I have a similar control - it says "Hello <NickName>" and gives some more personal information about the user, but it is a completely separate module (UserProfile) - there is no way to use such tokens in the normal HTML module.

Ps - I was thinking about doing something to make this more flexible and I  found this today (looks like they beat me too it ;)

there is also our Brillnat modules.  dbHTML is a tokenized text/html module that has tokens from the user profile, a sql query and querystring.  It is very flexible.  A new version is coming soon to fix an error handling unauthenticated users in DNN 4.
