I'm going to ask something thats probably been asked a hundred times before... and for that I'm really sorry, but no matter how much searching I've done I havn't come to a clear answer. Does DNN only work with MSSQL 2000/2005? ie, is saying I can't use MySQL (any version) correct? At the moment, all three servers I work with run MySQL. If DNN only works with MSSQL, can anyone recommend me a reliable hosting company that offers MSSQL servers at resonable rates? I am designing an PHPNuke site for a friend's company and DNN seems much better for the things he is looking for. I'd appriciate any help.

DotNetNuke can work with any SQL database - you only need an appropriate Data Provider. The framework and all modules come with data provider for MS SQL Server by default, and AFAIK there are also data providers for Oracle and MySQL available at SnowCovered. A DotNetNuke project team is working on a Firebird provider for more than a year now. So there are multiple options - but usually using MS SQL Server (even free MS SQL Express) is the easiest choice with best support.

Cheers from Germany,
