Has there been any thought to whether or not Windows Live Writer can be used with DNN blogs?

long term we're likely to implement one of the common blog api's such as metaweblog, this will then allow posting from tools such as windows live writer and word 2007.

This was one of the deciding factors that convinced me to reinstall community server back onto my site.  I use blogjet and the windows live writer tool, which both use the metaweblog api.  If dotnetnuke had a blog module out there in which the trackbacks worked a bit more reliably, and implemented an api for remote blogging, I assure you that it would be extremely popular among those users who run personal sites.  A blog ping would be nice as well.

I know you said long term, but I guarantee you the first one to write a blog module for dotnetnuke with this ability is going to get major Kudos from the dotnetnuke community and swing a lot of the blogging userbase back towards dotnetnuke.  I for one, would definitely pay for something like that.

I would definitely like to see Metaweblog API support in DNN's Blog module. Is there any timeline for support of this feature? Are there any third party Blog modules that already support the Metaweblog API?

I think that this is the single greatest enhancment that the blog module can get. I would love to be able to publish directly from Windows Live Writer, Word 2007 or Writely. Please add this enhancement as soon as possible
