I haven't had a chance to install it yet.  I've been getting another site off the ground for the last couple of days.  I should be able to install it tonight though.

I'm trying to figure out where I'm gettins a lot of general exception errors from currently.  There isn't a whole lot to go off of from the error messages I'm getting.  :)  I don't think it the blog module causing it though.

Most definatly did not help with the problem when you have Zone alarm.

I applied the patch and restarted the web app and as soon as I accessed the bolg page as admin all sorts of wierdness started.  All my posts had disapperd and I was logged off but only on that page.  When I was finally able to get to the configuration settings I got what looked like a very large version of your copyright notice and part of a link to your site.

When I hit cancel I was logged off completly but to another portal on my site.  Completly not what I expected.  :)

When I shutdown zone alarm everything worked perfectly and all the blog entries had returned.  I tried this a few times just to make sure there wasn't something up with the caching.

I think this is a Zone Alarm problem and not anything to do with the blog.  It works all the time as long as Zone alarm is turned off.  I've run into this before with them and it's just gotten a little worse with each new version.

Peter:

I have installed NewBlog version 3.1.18 on DotNetNuke 3.1.1 on my local machine running Windows XP Pro. I have also installed the 3.1.18 Patch.
Also installed on my machine is Norton Internet Security 2005.

After adding the module to a page and attempting to create a new blog as Host I get the following error:

Error: Create new Blog is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at HPS.DNN.Modules.NewBlog.EditBlog.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Providing a user with edit rights to the module and attempting to create a new blog as that user yield this error:

An error has occurred.
Error: Create new Blog is currently unavailable.

I have not had success with the NewBlog. If there is any more information that you need to diagnose this problem let me know.

Thanks for any help that you can provide.

Can you try what happens if you disable Norton Security ?

Disabling Norton produces the same error:

Error: Create new Blog is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at HPS.DNN.Modules.NewBlog.EditBlog.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---
